Why iCEM

A Different Kind Of Mining Career

You will work at the point where Indian mine conditions meet global methods — and leave a public trail of what was tested, taught, and adopted.

Technology with a burden of proof

Curate and stress-test tools against safety, cost, and duty-cycle — then help operators use them.

Innovation that has to survive the field

Water, earth, energy, and climate ideas move only when concept and value proof say they should.

Skills that outlive the pilot

Immersive training and leadership programmes so adoption does not walk out with the consultant.

A national collaboration seat

Academia, industry, and government meet on a purpose-built campus under GMDC’s aegis.

Skill & Knowledge Full-time

Programme Lead — Skill & Knowledge Development

Own iCEM’s training pathways — from immersive safety drills to leadership cohorts — so technology and innovation actually stick in Indian mines.

  • iCEM Campus, Bavla, Ahmedabad
  • 10–14 years
  • Apply by 20 Sep 2026
Role description

iCEM is not a training vendor. This role designs capacity-building that sits beside technology proof and innovation pilots, so operators leave with practice they can run on Monday morning.

What you will do

  • Build and refresh competency frameworks across safety, operations, environment, and digital mining.
  • Convert project lessons (water, energy, drones, AR/VR) into teachable modules with faculty and partners.
  • Plan the annual calendar of residential, on-site, and blended programmes with measurable learning outcomes.
  • Quality-assure faculty delivery, assessments, and certification standards.
  • Report programme impact to centre leadership and the board’s capacity-building mandate.

What you bring

  • Postgraduate degree in mining, engineering, education, or a closely related field.
  • A decade of work in mining operations, L&D, or industrial skill missions — with evidence of programmes you have owned.
  • Comfort with immersive and field-based pedagogy, not only classroom hours.
  • Clear writing and the ability to brief both a pit supervisor and a director.

Why this post exists. A mandate to shape India’s mining workforce from a purpose-built campus, with access to live GMDC and industry problems and a national partner network.

Technology Adoption Full-time

Specialist — Technology Curation & Digital Mining

Find, stress-test, and explain technologies — AI, IoT, drones, dashboards — that can survive Indian mine duty-cycles, then help teams actually use them.

  • iCEM Campus, Bavla (travel to mine sites)
  • 6–10 years
  • Apply by 20 Sep 2026
Role description

iCEM’s technology vertical exists to stop the sector buying what looks good in a brochure. You will curate options, frame evaluations, and support concept and value proof.

What you will do

  • Maintain a living map of digital and automation options relevant to Indian mining constraints.
  • Design evaluation criteria covering safety, cost, environment, data quality, and operator usability.
  • Support pilots on digital mine intelligence, vision systems, and decision dashboards.
  • Write technology briefs that industry, academia, and government can act on.
  • Work with the skills team so every adopted tool has a training path.

What you bring

  • Degree in mining, electronics, computer science, or industrial engineering.
  • Hands-on exposure to OT/IT, mine digitalisation, drones, or industrial IoT — vendor or operator side.
  • Ability to separate a demo from a deployable system.
  • Willingness to spend time on site, not only on campus.

Why this post exists. A curator’s seat at the intersection of global vendors and Indian operations, without being locked to a single OEM.

Promoting Innovation Full-time (contract 3 years, renewable)

Research Associate — Water, Earth & Climate

Turn field and lab evidence into concept-proof briefs on water recovery, land restoration, lignite pathways, and climate baselining.

  • iCEM Campus, Bavla
  • 3–6 years (PhD freshers with relevant thesis welcome)
  • Apply by 15 Sep 2026
Role description

Innovation at iCEM is not a pitch deck. This associate sits with scientists, operators, and start-ups to test whether an idea deserves a pilot on Indian ground.

What you will do

  • Assemble literature, site data, and partner methods for water, earth, and climate workstreams.
  • Support design of concept-proof and value-proof trials, including sampling and quality protocols.
  • Draft knowledge notes, risk registers, and partner-ready briefs.
  • Coordinate with GMDC sites and research institutions under iCEM agreements.
  • Contribute to campus seminars and visiting-scholar programmes.

What you bring

  • Masters or PhD in environmental science, hydrology, geology, chemical engineering, or climate studies.
  • Evidence of structured research — thesis, papers, or industry R&D notes.
  • Field comfort and statistical hygiene; GIS or lab analytics is an advantage.
  • Precise English and the discipline to version data, not just slides.

Why this post exists. Applied research with a direct line into pilots that can change how Indian mines treat water, waste, and land.

Centre Full-time

Manager — Strategic Collaborations & Partnerships

Build and govern alliances with academia, industry, and public institutions so iCEM’s three verticals have partners who can prove, fund, and scale work.

  • iCEM Campus / hybrid Ahmedabad
  • 7–12 years
  • Apply by 25 Sep 2026
Role description

iCEM’s mandate is national. This role makes collaborations real — MoUs that have workplans, visiting faculty that show up, and joint programmes that survive the announcement.

What you will do

  • Map and pursue partnerships across technology, innovation, and skills.
  • Structure agreements, workplans, and review cadences with legal and finance.
  • Host partner days, technical dialogues, and visiting delegations on campus.
  • Keep a clean pipeline of opportunities and a no-surprises report for leadership.
  • Protect iCEM’s knowledge position — collaboration without giving away the mandate.

What you bring

  • Graduate degree; MBA or public-policy qualification is useful, not mandatory.
  • Experience in institutional partnerships, industry associations, or government programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder craft and documentation discipline.
  • Hindi and English; Gujarati is an advantage.

Why this post exists. A visible external-facing role for someone who prefers building institutions over running campaigns.

Training Coordinator — Capacity Building Programmes

Run the operational spine of iCEM programmes — calendars, cohorts, hostel, faculty logistics, and the last mile that makes a training week land.

  • iCEM Campus, Bavla
  • 4–8 years
  • Apply by 18 Sep 2026
Role description

When a batch arrives from a mine, someone has to have rooms, kits, sessions, and assessments ready. This is that role — high ownership, high pace, high standards.

What you will do

  • Translate the annual training calendar into week-by-week delivery plans.
  • Coordinate nominations with companies, travel, hostel, and classroom readiness.
  • Support faculty with materials, AR/VR lab slots, and field-visit permissions.

What you bring

  • Graduate in any discipline; hospitality, mining, or L&D background preferred.
  • Proven event or programme operations experience with attention to detail.
  • Calm under last-minute change; spreadsheet and people skills both required.
  • Willingness to work residential-programme hours when batches are on campus.

Why this post exists. A front-row seat to every iCEM programme, and a path into programme leadership for operators who raise the standard.

  • iCEM Campus, Bavla
  • 2–5 years
  • Apply by 22 Sep 2026
Role description

A knowledge institute is only as good as what it publishes. You will sit with project leads and turn messy field learning into clear, citable products.

What you will do

  • Draft and edit technology briefs, project notes, and Knowledge Center pieces.
  • Maintain the case library — metadata, versioning, permissions, and house style.
  • Support the digital learning platform with structured content packs.
  • Fact-check claims against source data before anything goes public.
  • Coordinate photography, figures, and plain-language summaries with communications.

What you bring

  • Degree in journalism, science communication, engineering, or related field.
